The idea that earthly spaces can, on the one hand, provide people with a sense of grounding while at the same time fostering a feeling of a cosmically light connection and openness to the outside world is truly fascinating.

Heinz Grill, spiritual teacher, author, mountaineer, and yoga master, uses vivid examples in his book “The Idea of the Synthesis of Spirituality and Architecture“* to describe how this can be put into practice.

Thanks to the many different artists who created the works of art, the Casa dell’Estate is able to give visitors an insight into some of Heinz Grill’s ideas.

The light in the rooms

Beautifully designed skylights and fixed windows can bring more light into the rooms and, thanks to their design, capture people’s interest.

The beautiful, imposing steepness of Cima Catinaccio (Rosengartenspitze) is captured in this mural.

The circular panel on the kitchen ceiling makes the angular room appear rounder and more open toward the ceiling and outward.

An arched doorway instead of doors

Long, narrow forms in various materials

Long, narrow shapes and glass elements, along with tall, narrow doors, give the room a sense of elevation; it appears taller and more open. They also have an uplifting effect on people and direct their senses outward. With their senses alert, open, and attuned to clear forms, people become more receptive to light.

The vertical lines of tiles on the exterior add structure to the wall surface, which would otherwise appear empty.

Furniture in geometric shapes

A simple spruce wood shelf with shelves in an involute shape. Rounded beds in which the dimensions of the curve are mathematically related to the floor area, creating a harmonious integration into the room.

Curtains as a Design Element

Glass walls fitted with curtains can make a very beautiful and meaningful contribution to an upscale living experience.
